today we will continue with WEB SEARCHING & WEB RESOURCE EVALUATION

what is web searching???
  •  a software application that enable a user t display and interact with text, images, and other information
  • software that displays web pages
  • gives a user access to the World Wide Web.

WEB RESOURCES EVALUATION

there are 5 characteristics needed when taking information from the internet.

  • Authority
  • Accurancy
  • Objectivity
  • Currency
  • Coverage

ASSALAMUALAIKUM n GOOD DAYS !!! (^_^)

INTERNET

what is internet????

  • Internet is one big network connecting computers and people the world over.
  • it is also a network of networks that consists of millions of smaller domestic, academic, business, and government network, which carries different type of information and services.
            -electronic mail
            -online chat
            -file transfer

There are also hierarchy of Networks
  • from single computer to LAN
  • From LAN to ISP
  • ISP to WWW

ASALAMUALAIKUM n GOOD DAYS!!!  (^_^)

have you heard about wireless?
what is wireless??

- Wireless networks utilize radio waves and microwaves to maintain communication channels between computers. wireless networking is a more modem alternative to wired networking that relies on copper and fiber cabling between network devices.

THE WIRELESS DEVICES :

  • Portable computer
  • desktop computer
  • hand-held computer
  • Personal Digital Assistants (PDA)
  • Cellular phones
  • Pen-based computer
  • GPS

THE PRACTICAL PURPOSES

  • mobile users can use their cellular phone to access e-mail
  • travelers with portable computers can connect to the internet through base station.
  • At home, users can connect devices on their desktop to synchronize data and transfer files.

THE TYPE OF WIRELESS

  • wireless wide area networks (WWANs)
  • wireless metropolitan area networks (WMANs)
  • wireless local area networks (WLANs)
  • wireless personal area networks (WPANs)

THANK YOU!!!! SEE YA~~
ASALAMUALAIKUM n GOOD DAYS~~~ (^_^)

The topics for today are Protocol n Cabling:

       What is protocol???

Protocol is a formal set of rules, that govern how computers and other network devices exchange information over a network. in the other words, protocol is a standard procedure and format that two data communication devices must understand, accept and use to be able to talk to each other.

      What is CABLING??

Cable is a medium through which information usually moves from one network device to another. There are several types of cable which are commonly used with LANs.

what is NETWORK EQUIPMENT??

by Wikipedia:

networking hardware or networking equipment typically refers to devices facilitating the use of a computer network. which includes gateways, routers, network bridges, switches, hubs and repeaters. there are also hybrid network devices such as multilayer, protocol converters and bridge routers.

                                                    NIC (network interface card)

there are 3 type of NIC - ethernet card
                                     - Local talk connecters
                                     - Token Ring cards

Ethernet card:

 Local talk connecters:

Token ring card:

Hub & Switch

HUB: transmit all data received to all nod connected to the hub.

SWITCH :  Identify the device on the network for which the data is intended and sends the data to the node       only.

REPEATER : A network device used to regenerate or replicate a signal. Repeaters are used in transmission systems to regenerate analog or digital signals distorted by transmission loss. Analog repeaters frequently can only amplify the signal while digital repeaters can reconstruct a signal to near its original quality.

BRIDGES : is a product that connect a local area network (LAN) to (LAN) that uses the same protocol (ethernet or token ring)

ROUTER : Is a physical devices that join multiple wired or wireless networks together.

that all!!!!! (^_^)

hOW tHE DaTA gOT tRAnsMITTeD ??

ASSALAMUALAIKUM n gOOd dAY!!

Today we will know, how the data being transmitted. Actually how data transmit? Is there any specific ttansmitter,to transmit data? we will know it later..

There are a few characteristic that can help data to travel over the network.

  • Analog Vs digital
  • Bandwidth
  • Serial Vs parallel
  • Transmission timing
  • Transmission direction
  • Circuit switched, packed switched, broadcast connection

Analog VS Digital

analogdigital
datacontinuous (e.g., voice)discrete (e.g., text)
signalcontinuous electromagnetic waves
 -- -
--|----
Used mainly for transmitting data across a network.
sequence of voltage pulses
  --| --|
-- --
Used mainly internally within computers.
transmissiontransmission of analog signals without regards to their content (the data may be analog or binary). The signals become weaker (attenuated) with the distance. Amplifiers may be used to strengthen the signals, but as side effect they also boost the noise. This might not be a problem for analog data, such as voice, but is a problem for digital data.Transmission that is concerned with the content of the signal. Repeaters are used to overcome attenuation. A repeater recovers the digital pattern from the signal it gets, and resubmits a new signal.

Bandwidth

Bandwidth refer to the various bit-rate measures, it representing the available   or consumed data communication resources in bits/second or in kilobits/ magabits

Serial VS Parallel

Serial transmission - the bits are sent sequentially on the same channel (wire) which can reduces costs for wire but slow in speed transmission.

Parallel transmission - the data were sent simultaneously on the different channel within the same cable and synchronized to a clock. It also has wider data bus, therefore they can transmit one / more bytes at a time. due to that, it is more faster.

Transmission timing

Transmission timing were divided into three. They were synchronous, asynchronous, and isochronous.

Synchronous - the data organised into block or group and transferred at regular specific interval.

Asynchronous - the transmitted data is encoded with start and stop bits. The data also being sent without being synchronous.

Isochronous - the data were sent at the same time
 (video call,talking on the phone)

Transmission direction

In direction of data transmission were divided into two. Simplex and Duplex. While in duplex were also divided into two, which are half-duplex and full-duplex.

Simplex - is one station transmits and others just listen
Duplex - is a point to point system composed of two connected devices taht can communicate with one another in both direction simultaneously. It also like a two ways street.

Circuit switched, packed switched, broadcast connection

Circuit switched - data sent used dedicated path from sender to receiver
Packet switched - data sent as individual packet which are assembled at the recipient's destination
Broadcast connection - data broadcast to all nodes within range

ASSALAMUALAIKUM!!! n Go0d DaY!!

it have been a month from my last update, sorry Dr...heheeh
today, i wanna talk about  COMPUTER NETWORKING

 wHat is CompuTer NetworKING..??

is it a computer in the net..??
or a computer how working..??
or even a computer KING..??

let see what is exactly a COMputer NETworKING >.<

computer networking is a collection of hardware component and computer interconnected channels that allow sharing of resource and information

NEtworK cLassification

  • LAN (local area network)
  • HAN (home area network)
  • SAN (storage area network)
  • CAN (campus area network)
  • Backbone network
  • MAN ( metropolitan area network)
  • Wan (wide area network)
  • PAN (personal area network)

NEtworK t0poLoGy

TOPOLOGY are divided by two:

  • Logical topology
The mapping of the flow of data between the nodes. It also show how                the signal act or the way of data passed

  • Physical topology
Determined by capabilities of the network access devices and media, the    level of control or fault tolerance desired, and the cost associated with cabling or telecommunications circuits. There are also a few type of physical topology

Linear bus

star

ring

Tree

mesh

Different topology can give a different advantage and disadvantage for their user. Therefore in every used, must make sure they choose the right network.

bye!! and Go0D NigHt~~
